A fully functional Information Management System compatible with the National Learners Records Database.

SETTING CRITERIA

For, Promoting and Monitoring continued Professional Development (CPD) for its Members

DEVELOP

A shared Code of Conduct within the Hospitality Industry.

CO-OPERATE

With the relevant Quality Council for Trade Occupations (QCTO) in respect of Qualifications and Quality Assurance in its occupational field.

What is a Professional Body

A Professional body is constituted to represent and/or regulate a recognised community of expert practitioners.
A recognised professional body must register its professional designations with SAQA.
SAQA DEFENATIONS
Professional Body means any body of expert practioners in an occupational field, and includes an occupational body.
Professional Designation means a title or status conferred by a professional body in recognition of a person’s expertise and/or right to practice in an occupational field.

Purpose for Recognition of Professional Bodies

~ Promote public understanding of, and trust in professionals

~ Encourage social responsibility and accountability within the professions

~ Promote pride in association for all professions, including traditional trades and occupations

~ Promote the protection of the public by professional bodies from malpractice

~ Encourage international best practice and the raising of the esteem for all professions in South Africa

~ Facilitate access to data related to professions

Support the development of a national career advice system

Encourage the development and implementation of continuing professional development ( CPD)
